We serve as an entry point for Cryptozoology
Cryptozoology?
The term cryptozoology was coined by Bernard Heuvelmans in 1959 in his book On the Track of Unknown Animals. It is combination of three Greek words: kryptos, zoon, and logos which mean hidden, animal and discourse respectively. Heuvelmans defines it below:
“The scientific study of hidden animals, i.e., of still unknown animal forms about which only testimonial and circumstantial evidence is available, or material evidence considered insufficient by some!”
The Campfire
Based in Los Angeles, California, Cryptid Campfire brings you information on cryptids by the light of a virtual campfire. We recognize a lack of cohesive information on cryptids throughout the internet, scattered to and fro on various website, blogs, and videos with many of the most absurd theories getting the majority of the attention. We aim to change that by compiling well researched information into one centralized location and by linking you to other good sources written by top cryptozoologists around the world.
